It is a mix of cultures! Maori, Pakeha kiwis, English, Dutch, German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Phillipino, Indian, Brazilian, Colombian, Chilean, Peruvian, Argentine, and some lost Spanish….all together adding up to scarcely 4 million inhabitants!

Also called “city of Sails” it is the biggest city in NZ, and because of that they frequently think that it is the capital city.. but this is not so! There are numerous ports and a great many tiny islands situated in front of the coast. The special charm of this coastal town are the beautiful beaches: Mission Bay, Devonport or Takapuna… and the islands that you can escape to any weekend on the ferry, such as Waiheke, the land of the wine, or Rangitoto, an authentic volcano within reach for all!

Paradise of beach and surf, Tauranga is the major city of the Bay Of Plenty region, on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is found 45 minutes by car from Matamata (town wherethe village of Hobbiton from The Lord of the Rings is situated) and has one of the most important ports of New Zealand and the Kiwi factory that we all know… Zespri!

It is another city port in the region of Hawkes Bay It is situated 16 kilometers to the north of Hastings and only has 60,000 inhabitants. After the earthquake of 1931 the citywas reconstructed in art decó.it is one of the most interesting and beautiful cities of the North Island, and in spite of being small, is a great attraction.

Taupo is found on the edge of an enormous lake, of similar size to Singapore and is like a big interior sea of sweet water. Among the local attractions include fishing for trout, skiing and the geothermal parks. There you will find the magnificent Huka Falls, where they pour more than 220,000 litres of water per second.

Lonely Planet qualified Wellington as the most wonderful tiny capital of the world (2011) and is recognised for its art, culture and beautiful native. According to the Kiwis, it si the most cool city and for a long time has had the reputation of being the centre of arts and culture of NZ. This tiny London in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is home of Te Papa, the National Museum of NZ, and great variety of art galleries, bars and concert halls.

Queenstown is the world capital of adventure sports. The town is situated on the edge of the pristine Lake Wakatipu, among impressive mountain chains. The countryside of lakes and mountains invites all types of adventures. Here every day one practices skiing, bungy jumping (bridging), paragliding, boating, horse riding excursions or rafting……every morning that you get up, if you look at the sky, you will see adventurers of all nationalities ploughing through the sky with their parachutes and paraponts fo colours… it is one of the most picturesque cities in the world!

The second largest city in NZ and known as the “The Garden City”. It is situated approxiamately 300 km south of Wellington, the capital, in the region of Canterbury. As Lonely Planet defines it, it is “ a city vibrant in transition, that endures with resilience and creativity. After the big earthquake of 2011, this city started a period of reconstruction, so that it needs many work hands, and reinvention, filling with art, and new businesses the urban spaces that remained flattened after the earthquake.
